I moved to the Phoenix, AZ area from the south central US in 2002 and fell immediately in love with "The Valley", A few years later, I took on a travel job that exposed me to the stunning landscapes of the southwest desert and mountain west. I was then, and still am today, amazed at the magnificent beauty and grandeur of the region.

My curiosity for painting grew during this time through watching Bob Ross and Jerry Yarnell on PBS. I also began to find a sense of style I could relate to in the works of Chili Thom. Most importantly, through the encouragement and support of friend and artist Brenda Stines, I found the courage to pick up a brush for the first time.

Through the use of contrasting colors and surreal content, I strive to provide art that uplifts the spirit and transforms the soul. My prayer is that wherever my creations are displayed, peace, love and joy will abound. Please check out my Children's Room Bundles to foster these good feelings and spark creativity in the lives of your little ones.

I have come to prefer painting my skies and desert floors though double and triple loading my brush. This is where I use 2 or 3 colors at the same time to create the dramatic sweeping effects often seen in the vast expanses of the west. This is the same technique I teach in my Online Classes because it yields great results on a student's first try. This fosters encouragement and confidence in pursuing painting.
