This was my first large painting (24X36) on a wrapped canvass.
I painted the sky first, then the mountains, field and cloud. The mountains were inspired by the area around Van Horn, TX where the elevation is the highest in the state at around 5,000 feet. It hung on the wall for over a year because I knew it needed something more, but couldn't figure out what. One day I got this idea to add a tractor pulling the storm cloud over the parched field. I pulled it off the wall and added it. I loved the result and promptly named the painting West Texas Ingenuity!
I named these people trees Adam and Eve. I used a similar color scheme as that in West Texas Ingenuity and also used a 24X36 wrapped canvass.
This painting has been a long time favorite amongst viewers. It's called Tall Trees and represents the Sequoias of Central California. I painted it on an 8X10 canvass board.
These trees stand guarding The Cathedral of the Great Outdoors and are therefor named Holy Trees. Similar to my Tall Trees painting, they reside on an 8X10 canvass board.
This painting is one of my most favorite amongst viewers. It's called Tall Trees and represents the Sequoias of the Northwest. I painted it on an 8X10 canvass board.
